A Man’s Identify is Being Sought in Connection with a Series of Burglaries

$6,800 Charged To Toms River Man's Credit Cards After Burglary

Authorities are looking for a man in connection with a pair of vehicle burglaries at Pine Barrens Golf Club that resulted in more than $6,800 in charges on a Toms River man's credit cards.

According to Jackson Police Capt. Steve Laskiewicz, the crimes occurred on December 3 in the parking lot of the golf club on South Hope Chapel Road.

According to Laskiewicz, one individual said that his 2017 Chevy had been broken into and that more than $200, as well as credit and debit cards, had been taken.

The following day, Dec. 4, the Toms River man went to Jackson police headquarters to report the theft and burglary of his 2017 Honda, he said. According to Laskiewicz, the individual had more over $200 in his wallet and had various credit cards stolen.

According to the Toms River man, he began receiving fraud warnings from credit card issuers and was informed that his cards had been used at multiple retail establishments for combined purchases totaling more than $6,800.

The cards were used to shop at Walmart in Brick and Toms River, as well as Target in Brick, according to Laskiewicz.

He stated, "It looks that both vehicles were left unlocked."

According to Laskiewicz, the suspect car is a Mercedes Benz SUV with a California license plate. According to him, authorities have not been able to positively identify the culprit using the California registration.

Anyone with information that could lead to the man's identification should contact Detective Anthony Riso at 732-928-1111.
