Authorities in Ocean County Issue Warnings About the Risks of the ‘Senior Assassin’ Game
Following recent instances that prompted concerns about community safety, Point Pleasant Borough police and school officials are calling for an immediate suspension of a popular senior class game.
The Point Pleasant Borough School District and the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department claimed in a joint statement posted on social media that the "Senior Assassin" game, which is frequently played by high school seniors prior to graduation, has gone beyond simple amusement.
While this may have started as harmless fun, several recent incidents have crossed the line into unsafe and concerning behavior. Although they do not believe these events occurred on school grounds, actions throughout the community have raised serious safety concerns for students, residents, and law enforcement.
They are strongly advising that all aspects of this game stop immediately. This includes any planning, participation, or related activity.
It is requested that parents and guardians discuss the gravity of this issue with their kids. Pupils should be aware that making risky choices may lead to unanticipated outcomes, police involvement, and disciplinary punishment.
