Jon Bon Jovi has operated his Soul Kitchens for many years. JBJ Soul Kitchen is a place where guests pay what they can. His endeavor to provide food for the hungry through donations and voluntary work has become the stuff of Jersey legend.
This Saturday, the
8th Annual Soul Kitchen Chili Cook-Off will take place at their Toms River location. It is advertised as an afternoon of delicious food and enjoyable activities to promote JBJ Soul Kitchen's goal of reducing hunger.
This year there will be Special Performance by Applaud Our Kids. JBJ Soul Kitchen will be adding a Meat Smoker to the Chili Cookoff!
They will be selling Empty Bowls for a $20 Pay-It-Forward donation to help those fighting food insecurity.
To brighten up the holiday season for the in-need, The People’s Pantry will be taking a collection for non-perishable items. Please bring canned veggies, canned fruit, fruit juice, shelf-stable milk, hot + cold cereals, and soups.
It is unknown if the popular singer will be attending. However, in the past Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea frequently act as surprise judges so fingers crossed.
