Brick Township — A 97‑year‑old Brick resident was killed Monday evening in a violent two‑vehicle collision that shut down Drum Point Road for hours, according to Brick Township Police.

Frank Pugliese, 97, was driving a 2024 Hyundai Elantra eastbound on Drum Point Road around 7:15 p.m. on September 28, 2026, when investigators say his vehicle crossed the painted center median and struck a westbound 2026 Cadillac Escalade. Police identified the Escalade’s driver as Taylor Reinig, 36, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Drum Point Road and Johnson Road, prompting an extensive response from the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. The roadway remained closed in both directions for roughly five hours while officers documented the scene and cleared debris.
