Brother and Sister Found Dead in New Jersey Murder-Suicide
PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A 59-year-old woman and her brother were killed in a shooting at a Pennsauken home Wednesday morning, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police were dispatched to the
4400 block of Bethel Avenue around 9 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers were also advised that a man armed with a handgun was reportedly inside the residence.
Authorities located
Janet Camacho, 59, of Pennsauken, on the front steps of the home after she had been shot. She was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 9:40 a.m.
With assistance from the Camden County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, officers secured the area and established a perimeter around the residence as the investigation continued.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., authorities located the man deceased inside the building after he reportedly shot himself.
Daniel Lopez, 60, of Pennsauken, was pronounced dead at about 10:41 a.m.
Aerial video from
Fox 29 showed a robotic dog being used by police to safely enter the building during the incident.
