Fifth Earthquake Recorded in New Jersey Region This Year
April 23, 2026
Expect Poor Weather Conditions Throughout the Upcoming Weekend in NJ
Friday is going to be another lovely spring day to round up the week, but bad weather is predicted for the weekend.
Through Friday, the weather is seasonally moderate and partly cloudy; during the weekend, it will be cool, gloomy, and windy. Although it's not a wonderful weekend for outdoor activities, Saturday will provide much-needed rainfall to the entire region.
After a dry Monday, next week is predicted to be rainy with moderate, seasonal temperatures.
According to the meteorological service, a cold front is expected to move south through the area on Friday, bringing with it a noticeable chill with highs mostly in the 60s to about 70 degrees.
Friday afternoon could see a few showers, but otherwise it should be mostly dry.
According to the
National Weather Service, forecast guidance frequently fails to account for the kind of cold front that is predicted for Friday. It is also possible that the front will pass through more quickly than anticipated, which could lead to even lower temperatures.
A wave of low pressure that forms over the Great Lakes region on Friday night and moves toward New Jersey throughout the weekend is the primary weather story for the weekend.
Rainfall is predicted to be widespread, with Saturday afternoon and evening being the most likely times.
With highs only in the upper 40s to early 50s, Saturday will be a gloomy, wet, and raw day.
The speed at which the low pressure system passes across the area is still somewhat unpredictable; some forecasts indicate that it will leave by Sunday, while other models predict that it will remain in the area through Sunday night.
Temperatures are expected to improve on Sunday, reaching the mid-50s to mid-60s. However, depending on the timing of the departing storm system, lingering showers may still occur.
It is anticipated that dry and warmer weather will return by early next week, with highs returning to almost average levels for late April. Stay up-to-date with the weather
forecast.
