A beloved Wall teenager suffered serious injuries in a shooting on Tuesday in Nashville, where she attends Belmont University, according to Metro Nashville police.
Police say that on Tuesday afternoon, Jillian Ludwig, 18, was shot by a stray bullet from a nearby shooting when she was strolling down the track in Edgehill Community Memorial Gardens Park.

Shaquille Taylor, 29, is the suspect and is accused of aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. According to police, he is suspected of firing at a car from public housing across the street from the park, striking Ludwig in the head with one of the bullets. Police say that Taylor's bond has been set at $280,000. He is still being held.
Ludwig was listed by authorities as being in "extremely critical condition" at Vanderbilt Medical Center as of early Wednesday morning.
Ludwig, who graduated from Wall High School in 2023, is a young musician whose mission is to "Play It Forward," as evidenced by the numerous social media posts she has made about her charitable performances.
Ludwig graduated from Wall High School in 2023, and information about her music and kindness, as well as how she is being treated, paint a more complete picture of the student.
Despite not knowing her personally, Wall school board member Ralph Addonizio stated that he had heard her referred to as "almost like an angel."
The district counseling staff is providing resources that students and the community can access if necessary, in light of the upcoming extended weekend.

While Ludwig lived in Monmouth County, she attended the Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park. In a statement, the school said they were "devastated."
Belmont University President Greg Jones released a campus-wide statement Wednesday morning.
"Jillian is an engaged member of our community who is known for her love of music and its incredible power," Jones said. "A music business major and bass player, she is often found at concerts, cheering on fellow musicians and using music as a way to connect with those around her. Jillian is also an avid runner who enjoys being outside."
