Confirmed Shooting in Toms River Leads to Manhunt

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting Friday morning at the Wawa on Route 37 near Garfield Avenue, according to pollice. One person was wounded in the shooting and was being transported by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert advising motorists and residents to avoid the area of Route 37 and Garfield Avenue because of ongoing police activity.
