Covid-19 testing at Ocean County College

No Appointment Needed

You can now visit Ocean County College for a Covid-19 test. Walk-ins are now welcome.

Covid19 Testing is being offered at Ocean County College. No Appointments are necessary as walk-ins are welcome. However, according to the Ocean County Health Department, (OCHD) they are recommending you do make an appointment to avoid long lines and no wait time.

Please check the Ocean County Health Department Website for times/days of testing.

The procedure is quite simple: you walk into the building, show your health insurance information and be directed down the hallway while being socially distant until you're called into a final room to be given one of two options of a Covid test, the saliva test (PCR), which you could get if you haven't eaten anything in the 20 minutes prior to your arrival, or the nasal swab test.

Following the test, you walk out the eastern end doors and should get your results emailed over within 48-72 hours after the test.

The Ocean County Health Department said that rapid tests are available as well at OCC, especially for symptomatic patients.

“Making the change from the Ocean County Health Department and hospital personnel to Immediate Care has helped us in our efforts to expand our vaccination distribution,” Ocean County Public Health Coordinator Dan Regenye said in a statement. “We worked in close coordination with the Ocean County Board of Commissioners to make this transition.”

“Testing shows if you have the virus even if you are asymptomatic,” Regenye said. “This can help reduce the spread of the virus so long as people quarantine. We have always encouraged our residents to get tested."

Regenye said you can call 732-380-5079 or 1-833-544-0288 if you have general questions about the coronavirus, exposure, quarantine and spread, contract tracing, testing and the vaccine.
