Police Warn Drivers as Deer Activity Increases
The crash comes during a time of year when deer activity typically increases across New Jersey.
Galloway Township police are reminding motorists to remain particularly alert during dawn and dusk, when deer are more active and collisions are more likely.
Police also advise drivers to avoid making sudden, sharp swerves if a deer enters the roadway. Instead, motorists should brake firmly while remaining in their lane whenever possible.
A sudden maneuver can cause a driver to lose control or result in a secondary collision.
Drivers traveling through areas where deer are common are urged to slow down, remain attentive and be prepared for wildlife to enter the roadway unexpectedly.
The investigation remains ongoing.
