Dog Park in Toms River to Open November 1

Dog Park in Toms River Will Open November 1

OPENS: November 1, 2022

On November 1, according to Toms River Township Mayor Mo Hill, the new dog park will open in Silverton Park on Maine Street.

There has been at least one dog injury in the park, making it unsafe for dogs to play there right now according to the Mayor.

The grounds are still being worked on by crews; however, benches have not yet been installed, and the sod and grass seed require time to establish. There is proof that someone forced gates open and bent latch mechanisms to get past the padlocks in order to force their way into the gated park. Although Milo was upset that the park was closed today, he is a wonderful boy and assured that it would be worth the wait.

Mayor Hill added, "We ask that dog-loving residents be patient just a couple more weeks." For the safety of your dogs and everyone's enjoyment, please wait until the staff has finished the work before using the dog park, even though it appears to be ready and inviting.

Check out the proposed rules of the new dog park.
