Dramatic Weather Change Forecasted in NJ: Here is What to Expect

Thunderstorms and a sharp change in temperature might affect the Garden State over the weekend and into the workweek following days of record-breaking heat, according to forecasters.

According to the National Weather Service, the heat will persist on Friday and Saturday, with highs in the 70s and a possibility of thunderstorms on Friday night. The NWS reported on Friday that above-average temperatures will persist through Saturday. "Some showers and thunder for parts of the area today into early evening."

"A strong cold front will cross through the area Sunday morning, resulting in a period of showers and some thunderstorms," forecasters said. "Until early next week, much colder, below-average temperatures are anticipated. It looks likely that there will be widespread frost and/or freeze from Monday night until Tuesday morning.

According to forecasters, it will be "outright chilly on Monday with sub-freezing temps possible Monday night." Check the latest forecast.
