Norma Yates, 63 of Winslow Township was last seen at her home on July 29
After a woman from South Jersey vanished about three weeks ago, her family is in dire need of information.
Police said
Norma Yates, 63, of Winslow Township, was reported missing on July 31.
According to the police, Yates was last seen on July 29 at her mobile home on Vineyard Road in the Atco neighborhood of Winslow.
During a welfare check, Yates was reportedly discovered charging her phone next to a nearby structure, according to the police. Yates told the police she was alright and went home after they offered her a bottle of water despite her claims to be thirsty.
When Yates' family did not hear from her the following day, they were worried and called the police.
Yates's daughter Nichole Ennis said, "We thought maybe Mom went to the shore or anything like that and didn't notify us. We grew more anxious as we realized she had forgotten her wallet, debit card, and cellphone.
Police started looking right away, investigating locations as far away as North Jersey and Philadelphia.
LANDSAR and the New Jersey state police have both been deployed, according to Winslow Police Lieutenant Ray Cogan. "We conducted a neighborhood search, looking for abandoned properties."
Yates' family also carried out their own searches, according to the police, who claimed to have utilized K9s to scour the region. However, no sign of her has been seen to date.
"The suffering is unbearable. No matter who they are, I don't believe anyone can completely understand where we're coming from, said Ennis.
Norma Yates has three grandkids who are all younger than three, and Ennis will soon give birth to her second child. In New York City, Ennis' husband is receiving cancer treatment. Yates has been their primary caregiver.
Yates was 63 years old when she vanished. Ennis claimed that her mother didn't drive and wouldn't simply disappear and forget her own birthday.
The family claimed to be looking for home security footage and to have spoken to contractors who were in the neighborhood the weekend she vanished.
"My mother is neatly organized. We were a little concerned because the area wasn't left in the best of conditions. She should be calling us a thousand times a day, so that is really unusual," Ennis added.
The National Missing Persons Database currently has Yates' picture on it, and police are still following up on leads.
