Frankie Edgar of Toms River is UFC Hall of Fame Inductee
During the broadcast of UFC 297 on Saturday night, the UFC revealed that Frankie Edgar will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2024. The first inductee for 2024 to be announced is Edgar.
Edgar was taken aback by the statement while he was there at Scotiabank Arena for UFC 297. An official date will be announced later. The beginning will happen this summer.
Edgar overcame notable opponents over his career, including Charles Oliveira, Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, and the renowned BJ Penn. "The Answer" ended his illustrious feud with Gray Maynard via knockout and defeated Penn in a rematch while holding the UFC lightweight title.
When it was revealed that Edgar would be replacing him in UFC history, he was met with a standing ovation. Edgar was always a fan favorite because of his thrilling fighting style; he was never renowned for trash talking.
The UFC Hall of Fame will induct Frankie Edgar at this summer's International Fight Week. In the upcoming weeks and months, more inductees are anticipated to be announced by the UFC.
