Gun Goes Off in Crowded Costco in Brick Township

A man is injured in an unintentional shooting incident at Brick Costco.

According to Brick Township Police Department, on Sunday, January 21st, at approximately 1pm, Brick Township Police responded to 465 Rt 70 (Costco) for an accidental discharge of a firearm. Gun owner was hurt on Sunday when the gun he was carrying unintentionally fired.

The man's identity was withheld by Police Chief David Forrester, who added that the man's wounds were not thought to be life-threatening. According to Forrester, the man had a permit to carry the gun.

The incident is under investigation.
