JCP&L crews are working to restore power to customers in Lakewood and Toms River (Ocean County) following a substation fire early this morning.
Approximately 6,200 customers remain without power at this time, down from 9,900 total customers impacted.
Crews will be working throughout the day to restore power to customers as fast as safely possible; however, we expect restoration efforts will last into the evening.
For the safety of our crews, additional customers may experience a service interruption during the day as crews isolate and repair damaged equipment.
We understand how difficult it is to be without power, especially on a hot, humid day.
