Get Ready to Fall Back: When Do We Change the Clocks?

🚨⏰ GET READY TO FALL BACK! 🍂

Get ready to “fall back”! New Jersey residents will soon turn their clocks back one hour as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end for 2026.

When Do We Change the Clocks? Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

At 2:00 a.m., clocks will move backward one hour to 1:00 a.m., giving everyone an extra hour overnight.

For those who have clocks that do not automatically adjust, it is a good idea to turn them back before going to bed Saturday night, October 31.

What Does “Fall Back” Mean?

The November time change means we return to Eastern Standard Time. While the change gives us an extra hour of sleep, it also means the sun will rise and set about an hour earlier.

That means Jersey Shore residents will notice earlier sunsets and darker evenings beginning November 1.

Don't Forget These Clocks

Most smartphones, computers and other connected devices will adjust automatically, but don't forget about clocks that may need to be changed manually, including:
  • ⏰ Wall clocks
  • ⏰ Alarm clocks
  • 🚗 Vehicle clocks
  • 🍳 Kitchen appliances
  • ⌚ Watches

The time change can also be a good reminder to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors around the house.
