When Visiting the Toms River Goodwill Donation Center You Will Need To Know The Following

Follow these simple steps when donating to Goodwill Donation Center:
  • Park your vehicle in the designated customer donation parking spaces. (Staff member will unload your items for you.)
  • Have your donations separated into the following four categories before arriving:
    a) Clothes
    b) Shoes
    c) Books
    d) All other acceptable donations
  • If you need a receipt, a staff member will be able to assist you.
  • Below is a List of Items they can and cannot Accept

  • Encyclopedias
  • Firearms, Knives, Swords
  • Fireworks
  • Food
  • Waterbeds, Mattresses, Box springs
  • Recalled Items
  • Kerosene Heaters
  • Any items a baby goes in - highchairs, beds, playpens, cribs, car seats, walkers, bottles
  • Any large appliances
  • Lumber, scrap metal

    When considering the types of donations you wish to make, please bear in mind the quality of the items. Your donations play a critical part in making it possible for local Goodwills to provide job training and placement services. With quality donations, Goodwills are able to deliver critical programs and services.

    DONATION DO’S
  • Wash or dry-clean clothing, if possible.
  • Test electrical equipment and battery-operated items.
  • Include all pieces and parts to children’s games and toys.
  • Check with your local Goodwill to determine standards for donating computers and vehicles.

    DONATION DON’TS
  • Leave items unattended outside a collection center
  • Donate broken or soiled items
