Graduation Celebration for Police Academy in Ocean County

After five months of rigorous training, the Ocean County Police Academy graduated 47 new officers earlier this month in a ceremony held at Georgian Court University.

Gary Quinn, deputy director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners and liaison to the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, said, "During the last five months you spent at the Ocean County Police Academy, you learned not only the skills to become a police officer but you became part of a law enforcement family that works hard, day in and day out, to protect our neighborhoods, our communities, our county and beyond."

As the guest speaker, Dr. Caesar DePaco was recognized by the Police Academy for a significant donation that is being utilized to improve the academy's training curriculum, particularly to purchase specialized equipment for its training program in defensive tactics and physical conditioning.
