Home Invasion: Couple Robbed at Gunpoint in Toms River

According to Toms River Police Department, they are looking for a man who robbed a couple early on Saturday morning in their bedroom while holding them at gunpoint.

At 5:11 a.m. on Saturday, the proprietors of a house on Hundred Oaks Drive called the police, reporting to the dispatcher that a man was in their bedroom wearing a black-and-orange mask and a blue sweatshirt, according to Lt. Gene Bachonski.

After a brief exchange during which the man brandished a gun at them and demanded money, Bachonski said the man fled the house by running downstairs.

The man may have left the residence through the open rear door that the police discovered. He stated they looked all over the house and the neighborhood but couldn't find the man.

According to Bachonski, the thief snatched roughly $560 in cash and credit cards out of a pocketbook.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Officer Marc Cenicola at 732-349-0150, ext. 1452.
