According to county officials, a Facebook event soliciting vendors for a phony Christmas fair at Cattus Island County Park is a hoax.
A flier circulating on Facebook claims there is a "Christmas bazaar" being hosted at Cattus Island County Park, prompting Ocean County officials to issue a fraud alert.
The brochure, which advertises vendor spaces for $80 per place, is a hoax, according to county officials.
"This event is not happening at Cattus," a post on the county park's Facebook page said. "DO NOT send them a deposit or vendors fees."
