Following a report that a boat had capsized, a search and rescue operation was launched in the Manasquan Inlet on Thursday night.
Three people were in the water, according to a report from the local police to the Coast Guard. According to Petty Officer 3rd Class Kimberly Reaves, an agency spokesperson, local first responders had found two of the victims and were looking for the third.
A 47-foot motor life boat and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from the Coast Guard's stations in Manasquan Inlet and Atlantic City, respectively, were helping with the search, according to Reaves.
On a jetty on the Manasquan side of the inlet, there was a sizable contingent of the neighborhood's first responders.
Search and rescue crews confirm three people were on board the boat. Two were rescued one remains missing. Search efforts have continued all night long.
