July 4th Fight Leaves One Person Severely Injured In Toms River

Toms River Woman Found in Woods

Fight Still Under Investigation

According to the Toms River Police Department, they are still investigating a street fight that occurred on the 4th of July that left one person seriously injured.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. units from the Toms River Police Department responded to Hazelwood Road on reports of an injured person, according to a news release issued by police. The victim was flown by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment of serious injuries.

The victim is male and his condition is listed as critical, but stable, said Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

An initial investigation revealed a street altercation led to the person’s injuries, Toms River police said in its news release.

The Major Crimes Unit of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is actively investigating, Billhimer said.
