Julio Anchia Remains Behind Bars
According to the Lakewood Police Department Facebook page, a Lakewood Township man now faces criminal charges after he tried to lure a 16-year-old girl into his vehicle for sex at the Highpoint Condominium complex.
Julio Anchia, 40, of Lakewood tried to lure the teenager into his car on March 31, but the girl refused his advances and recorded the interaction on her phone, according to the post.
His identity was not known to the girl, but a "concerned citizen" helped police identify Anchia, according to local authorities.
He was arrested at his Lakewood home on Thursday, but said he had already fled. He turned himself in to authorities on Sunday afternoon.
Police charged him with second-degree attempted luring, second-degree attempted sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
He remained in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, on Sunday evening.
