Shed Collapse in Manchester

Man was Cut Free from the Debris

Authorities in Manchester said that a man was transported to the hospital on Sunday after a shed fell on him.

After being extricated from the fall, the individual was transferred to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to Manchester Police Captain Vincent Manco on Monday.

According to Manco, the man was attempting to remove a shed from his property when it collapsed. There was no current information on his health.

On Sunday, just before 1:30 p.m., in the Fox Hollow section, the collapse was reported.   The man was reportedly stuck when the Whiting Fire Companys crews came and started working to extricate him from the building.

According to the fire department, the "crews worked diligently to lift the structure from the individual" and stabilize it before using saws to obtain access to him and extricate him from the collapse.

The victim was subsequently flown from Bowker Field to the hospital, according to the fire department.

There were no immediate updates on his condition or the circumstances behind the collapse.

According to fire department officials, a crew from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was dispatched, and the man received on-scene care from Manchester Township EMS EMTs and RWJ Barnabas paramedics.
