TRENTON, NJ — The Trenton Police Department has confirmed that 11‑year‑old Britney Gonzalez, who was reported missing late Saturday night, has been safely located. Authorities released updated information Monday evening detailing how and where she was found.

Police say Britney was located early Monday morning in the North Olden Avenue commercial corridor, approximately one mile from her Stuyvesant Avenue residence. According to investigators, a passerby noticed a young girl matching Britney’s description near a closed storefront and contacted police.

Officers arrived within minutes and confirmed her identity. She was found alert, unharmed, and alone, wearing the same white t‑shirt and blue pajama pants described in the initial alert. Police say she did not appear injured and did not require medical treatment.

How She Was Found

According to detectives, Britney told officers she had walked away from her home late Saturday night after her mother last saw her inside the residence around 11:00 p.m. She was reported missing approximately an hour later when her mother returned downstairs and could not locate her.

Investigators believe Britney spent part of the night walking through nearby residential blocks before eventually reaching the Olden Avenue area. Surveillance footage from several businesses is being reviewed to confirm her movements.

Police emphasized that Britney does not suffer from any medical or mental disabilities, and at this time, no foul play is suspected.
