This week, Seaside Heights approved emergency measures to assist reduce issues on the boardwalk and beach.
The Seaside Heights council introduced an ordinance to establish a 10 p.m. curfew for minors,
following the lead of the nearby town of Toms River. Additionally, unless there is a permitted event going on, beaches will be closed at 8 p.m.
Anthony Vaz, Mayor of Seaside Heights, claims the new regulations are in force right away. He claims there will be covert police officers patrolling the boardwalk.
These new regulations are a reaction to complaints from nearby residents and a raucous gathering during Memorial Day weekend. Similar curfews are already in effect in Ortley Beach and Lavallette.
