New Curfew Adopted in Seaside Heights to Reduce Boisterous Beach Crowds

Seaside Heights Curfew

New Curfew

This week, Seaside Heights approved emergency measures to assist reduce issues on the boardwalk and beach.

The Seaside Heights council introduced an ordinance to establish a 10 p.m. curfew for minors, following the lead of the nearby town of Toms River. Additionally, unless there is a permitted event going on, beaches will be closed at 8 p.m.

Anthony Vaz, Mayor of Seaside Heights, claims the new regulations are in force right away. He claims there will be covert police officers patrolling the boardwalk.

These new regulations are a reaction to complaints from nearby residents and a raucous gathering during Memorial Day weekend. Similar curfews are already in effect in Ortley Beach and Lavallette.
