New Jersey State Trooper Rescues Dog Stuck On Lake Ice

New Jersey State Trooper Rescues Dog

Lake Hopatcong

Recently, Trooper I Michael Betz was on his way to the New Jersey State Police Lake Hopatcong substation.

He completed administrative duties when he noticed a dog stuck out on the ice.

Trooper Betz made several attempts to coax the small dog over to the shoreline.

The frightened dog would not come to Trooper Betz and fell through the ice and struggled to remain afloat.

Eventually, the pup made it to a rock formation sticking out of the lake but was still cut off from dry land.

Trooper Betz donned his dry suit and utilized a nearby paddleboard to retrieve the animal and escorted it safely back to shore.

We learned the dog’s name was Georgy when he was happily reunited with his owners.
