New Jersey Weather Taking a Turn: What to Expect and When
Forecasters predicted that from Thursday night through Saturday, numerous rounds of showers and thunderstorms will spread throughout New Jersey, bringing with them intermittent, intense downpours and oppressive heat.
The
National Weather Service predicts that the first bout of rain will come Friday after 3 a.m., especially north of I-78, and continue until the early morning.
Temperatures in the low to mid-80s and strong south breezes during the day will follow the initial shower.
"Late Friday and early Saturday, a cold front will gradually pass through the area. According to National Weather Service forecasters, "this may bring showers and thunderstorms to the region as early as this evening, lasting at times into Saturday."
Before the second round begins in the early hours of Saturday at two in the morning, the remainder of Friday will be mostly dry throughout the state. Forecasters predicted sticky heat on Friday despite the breeze.
The area south of I-78 will be the focus of the second bout of rain, which is expected to last until late evening before drying off at midnight.
The
National Weather Service forecasts stated that "downpours are certainly conceivable as this activity steadily declines with eastward extend late into the night," even though the storms should be passing across the area quickly enough to prevent widespread concerns about flooding.
Highs will decrease to the mid- and upper-70s on Saturday after the rain, and the air will become less humid.
Sunday is predicted to be sunny and dry throughout the state, with highs in the 80s. This pattern is forecast to continue into the first part of next week.
According to forecasters, temperatures might surge into the upper 90s, and by Wednesday, it "feels like" it will be close to 100 degrees. Check the latest
