NJ Resident Mara Justine Wows 'The Voice' Judges in Audition

Mara Justine of Galloway Township

Mara Justine performs Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” on The Voice Blind Auditions.

On Monday, Galloway Township resident Mara Justine made an appearance in the last moments of the season premiere of the reality TV singing competition "The Voice," and every coach said they wanted her on their vocal teams.

With "to be continued tomorrow night" written on the TV screen, Justine's decision was left as a cliffhanger. You can turn in tonight at 8 pm on NBC to watch who she chooses to be her coach.

The judges for season 24 are John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, a former member of One Direction who is now a solo artist, whose vocalist won the competition in season 23, and new judge Reba McEntire.

With her performance of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," Elton John's smash ballad from 1973, Justine won over the judges.

Each coach on "The Voice" convinces hopefuls to join their vocal team by pushing a button and turning their chair around during the blind auditions to show they wish to work with the singer.

When Justine was 16 years old, she placed in the top 14 on "American Idol" in 2018. In 2014, when Justine was 12 years old, she competed on "America's Got Talent" as a finalist. Justine attended Absegami High School in Galloway Township.

Since 2011 and through now, Sal Dupree, the Linwood vocal coach, has been Justine's teacher.

"The Voice" blind auditions continue on NBC.

“The Voice” airs 8 p.m. ET Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
