Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Needs Public's Help from State Police

The Garden State Parkway was the scene of a tragic hit-and-run incident on Monday, October 9, and the New Jersey State Police is asking for help from the general public.

Detectives discovered during their first investigation that at around 9:24 p.m., a black 2004–2006 Acura TL with an unknown registration plate was driving north on Eastern Parkway in Irvington near the 143C entry ramp. The car struck a young pedestrian who had crossed the street. On the Garden State Parkway, the car sped away from the scene in the north direction.

A sixteen-year-old male pedestrian from Newark, New Jersey, died as a result of the collision.
