After police said he was discovered snapping photos of a 7-year-old from beneath a restroom stall at Costco, a man who was convicted of a sex offence against a minor in 2018 was charged with invasion of privacy and child endangerment.

After leaving the Costco at 219 Stafford Park Blvd., Christopher Dinverno, 39, of Barnegat, was arrested at a diner in Stafford on April 22.

A father of the 7-year-old told police officers that a man was photographing the child from up beneath the stall when they arrived at the store.

The individual had previously been involved in incidents at Costco, according to police. Authorities identified him as Dinverno after checking with the store's management.

According to court documents, Dinverno was originally charged in Barnegat on Oct. 11, 2017, with sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13, endangering a child due to sexual conduct, and invasion of privacy. He avoided jail after being found guilty of endangering others.

Megan's Law, on the other hand, put him on lifelong community monitoring.

Dinverno was held at Ocean County Jail.
