Justin Donaldson, 36, of Lacey Township
On September 7, 2022, Justin Donaldson, 36, of Lacey Township, was charged with murder in connection to the death of his father, David Donaldson, 67, also of Lacey Township, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Lacey Township Chief of Police Michael C. DiBella.
Officers from the Lacey Township Police Department were called to a home on Weehawken Avenue on September 7, 2022, at at 4:35 p.m. by a worried family member who was trying to check on his father, David Donaldson, and his brother, Justin Donaldson.
A family member attempted to enter the house, but Justin Donaldson refused. The Lacey Township Police were contacted when a worried family member dialed 911. Later, when Lacey Township Police officers broke down the door to the house, they found the body of a dead man named David Donaldson inside with apparant trauma to this face.
Justin Donaldson was found to be the person responsible for his father's death following an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Lacey Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit. Without incident, Justin Donaldson was taken into custody at the spot. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail, where he is now being held while a detention hearing is scheduled.
