Officer Victoria Finelli Earns Girl Scouts’ ‘Phenomenal Women Under 40’ Award

On Wednesday, September 16, Officer Victoria Finelli #273 was recognized by Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, who celebrated Monmouth and Ocean Counties ‘Phenomenal Women Under 40’. These women were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the community, exemplary character, and their dedication to community service. They have proven leadership skills and consistently go above and beyond in their personal and professional lives.

Brick Police Officer Honored for Leadership, Service and Community Engagement

The Brick Township Police Department is celebrating one of its own after Officer Victoria Finelli #273 was honored on Wednesday, September 16, by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore as one of Monmouth and Ocean Counties’ Phenomenal Women Under 40. The award highlights women who demonstrate exceptional achievement, strong character, and a deep commitment to community service.

Officer Finelli embodies all of those qualities. Since joining the Brick Township Police Department in 2015, she has built a distinguished career centered on service, education, and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community. Her work in the Community Policing Division allows her to connect with residents—especially children and families—in ways that extend far beyond traditional policing.

Her journey began as a Class II seasonal police officer before transitioning to Brick Township’s Patrol Division, where she spent five years before moving into Community Policing. Today, she serves as a Public Information Officer, DARE Officer, Cadet mentor, and a frequent presenter in local schools. She is known for developing meaningful partnerships with community organizations and building trust with residents through communication, outreach, and mentorship.

Officer Finelli’s dedication has earned her numerous honors, including two Life Saving Awards, multiple Chief’s Certificates, Letters of Recognition for Service, a Grand Cordon Award, and a Certificate of Congressional Recognition—each reflecting her courage, professionalism, and commitment to public safety.

Education has also been a driving force in her career. She graduated summa cum laude from New Jersey City University with a Bachelor’s Degree in National Security Studies, attending on a full Presidential Scholarship for academic excellence.

Her work shows the powerful impact law enforcement professionals can have when they combine public safety with compassion, mentorship, and community engagement. Officer Finelli continues to inspire young girls across the region, proving that determination and talent can take them anywhere they dream of going.
