On the Garden State Parkway in Toms River, a Pedestrian was Struck and Killed

On Sunday night, a pedestrian was struck and killed on the Garden State Parkway, according to the New Jersey State Police.

According to Sgt. Alejandro Goez, the person was struck by a southbound car near milepost 87, north of the Toms River toll booth, and died at the scene.

According to Goez, the collision was reported at 7:19 p.m. As about 11 p.m., the right two lanes heading south were still blocked for the ongoing investigation.

The pedestrian's identity was being withheld until family members were notified.
