Helping Those In Need

Operation Barbeque Relief will be in Toms River on Saturday, November 6, 2021, to offer 1,000 hot meals to individuals in need, according to the Township of Toms River.

The meals will be provided from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church Toms River parking lot, 1070 Hooper Ave, Toms River.

The Hope Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by the Clergy Association of Greater Toms River, organized the event. A winter clothing drive will be held at the Hope Center.

Coats, blankets, caps, scarves, gloves, and diapers are all available for free to residents. Indoors, masks are essential.

They are practicing social distancing and minimizing interactions, as recommended by the CDC. The meal will be distributed in a drive-through method. Volunteers will deliver the meal to the trunk of your vehicle.

Please keep your windows closed and pop the trunk.

"This is our fourth year back to feed our community that one hot meal that matters," said David Keith, Area Coordinator for New Jersey. It's always remarkable to witness what a hot meal can do for someone, and we're delighted we can support our neighbors in any tiny manner."

Operation BBQ Relief has helped many residents during the pandemic in the ongoing effort to make sure no one goes hungry during the coronavirus pandemic.
