On Tuesday morning in Toms River, a pedestrian was struck by a car and died, according to the authorities.
Just before 6:15 a.m., the adult victim was struck close to the intersection with Hooper Avenue, according to a Toms River police spokesman.
The driver pulled over and assisted the authorities. The victim's identity has not been released while the family has not been notified.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Toms River police are looking into the matter.
