Possible Explosion Destroys South Jersey Home

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. — A South Jersey home was destroyed Tuesday afternoon after firefighters responded to a structure fire that was initially reported as a possible explosion.

Pleasantville firefighters arrived to find the home heavily involved in flames. Crews quickly worked to knock down the fire before shifting their efforts to protecting nearby structures as conditions at the scene changed.

All occupants of the home were safely outside before firefighters arrived, and officials confirmed that everyone was accounted for.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury during the response.

The fire left four residents displaced, with the American Red Cross providing assistance to those affected.

Officials have not determined what caused the blaze, and the circumstances surrounding the reported possible explosion remain under investigation.

Authorities have not reported any fatalities in connection with the incident.
