February 15, 2024
The possibility of more snowfall this week in the Garden State is cause for celebration for those who love the snow.
The
National Weather Service stated that another bout of winter weather is expected to strike the state Friday night into Saturday, bringing with it a 40 to 60 percent chance of 1 inch of snow or more, following a strong storm that dumped nearly 13 inches of snow on sections of New Jersey.
Forecasters predicted that the region's chances of receiving two to three inches of snowfall are still just about 40% or less.
According to News12NJ, on Thursday night, just after 7 p.m., a swift moving clipper storm "clips" over New Jersey, delivering a quick burst of snow to the northern regions with very little accumulation. Rain showers may occur to the south of I-287/78.
Friday dawns cold, windy, and quiet. Clouds moving through, highs around 43. Before the next weather system, which is predicted to bring 1 to 3 inches of snow into Saturday morning, clouds begin to build in the evening.
It can be a little slick early on, but it's not a huge concern. When the sun comes out in the middle of the afternoon, the temperature rises to over 41 degrees, evaporating the majority of the accumulation.
The remainder of the weekend will bring sun, clouds, and low to mid-40s temps.
