Metal Nuts and Washers Were Found in the Beverage Items Supplied in New Jersey and Seven Other States, Prompting a Recall
Check the labels on any Coca-Cola, Minute Maid, or Sprite goods you bought for the holidays, or if you have a few spare bottles of the soft drinks and other beverages on hand, to make sure they aren't among the products recalled in New Jersey because they may contain metal nuts and washers.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration, the contaminated juice and soft drink items were distributed in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Maine, and New Jersey.
The recalled Minute Maid products, first reported by Food Safety News, are:
Berry Punch: Date codes Jan0422 NP and Jan0522 NP, Batch 0010323455 and 0010259344 (recall F-0276-2022)
Strawberry Lemonade: Date code: Jan0322 NP, Batch: 0010259346 (recall F-0277-2022)
Fruit Punch: Date Code: JAN0522 NP Batch: 0010323454 (recall F-0278-2022)
The affected Coca-Cola and Sprite products included in a November recall are:
Coca-Cola 12-ounce cans: Date Code: AUG 1522 WM B
Coca-Cola 12-ounce cans: Date Code: AUG 1522 WM C
Sprite 12-ounce cans: Date Code: AUG 1522 WM B
The company's recalled items are all due to expire in 2022. Customers can either return them to the store for a refund or toss them out.
