Don't Forget to Fall Back
As Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m., one of the year's more underappreciated weekends arrives. We all get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday, Nov. 5 as the clocks fall back.
Whether you like to set the time back before bed or just get it done in the morning, remember that when the clock strikes 2 a.m. Sunday, it will be officially 1 a.m.
While getting an extra hour of sleep is the enticing aspect of the end of Daylight Saving Time, it also means that sunrise and sunset will be an hour earlier for the remainder of the season.
As we prepare our clocks to "fall back" for the end of Daylight Saving Time, this is a chance to also prepare your home and family for fire and weather emergencies.
Do a fire drill at home and write a family communication plan.
Test and replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
