Remembering Michael Ryan Karlin, 45, of Toms River

Michael Ryan Karlin

Michael Ryan Karlin, 45, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1980, in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Michael was a gentle, generous, hardworking, and kind-hearted man whose thoughtful nature touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and he was deeply loved by his many friends and colleagues.

He spent most of his life in Toms River, New Jersey. He graduated from Toms River High School East and went on to earn a degree in Human Resource Management from Rider University.

Michael dedicated several years of service to St. Barnabas Behavioral Health, where he worked as a Mental Health Worker and Security Guard. He later worked in sales at Builders General in Toms River.

In his early years, Michael enjoyed playing ice hockey and baseball and was a member of both the Toms River East High School and travel hockey teams. In later years, he developed a love for golf, which he enjoyed in his free time. He was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, Gregory Karlin and Marie Lukasiewicz (husband Robert Lukasiewicz); his siblings, Gina Karlin, Tina Beckley (husband Jeff Beckley), and Joseph Alfonso (wife Monica Alfonso); his two nephews, Joey and Ben; his niece, Embri; and his aunts and uncles—Donna Herman, Barbara Weiner, and Jeff and Naomi Karlin, as well as many cousins throughout the country.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ, on April 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a repast to follow at a location to be announced.

All family and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or a charity of your choice.
