Salvatore J. Alio, 70, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic and colon cancer on July 7, 2026, in Toms River, New Jersey. He was born on April 18, 1956, in Abington, Pennsylvania, and spent his life creating lasting memories with the people he loved most.

Salvatore J. Alio, 70, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic and colon cancer on July 7, 2026, in Toms River, New Jersey. He was born on April 18, 1956, in Abington, Pennsylvania, and spent his life creating lasting memories with the people he loved most.

Salvatore was the beloved son of the late Francis J. Alio and Joan M. Alio (Geottner), and the devoted husband of the late Jennifer L. Alio (Lavery).

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Kendall Ace (Alio) & Christopher Ace, Anna DiCiurcio (Alio) & Anthony DiCiurcio. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Colson Ace, Cameron Ace, and Sloane DiCiurcio, who were truly the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, extended family, and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Sal retired after a career as a baker, a profession that reflected his generous spirit and brought joy to so many. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in simple pleasures. He loved spending time at the beach searching for sea glass, tending to his garden, visiting Hallock’s U-Pick Farm, taking road trips, enjoying Disney adventures, and treating himself to baked goods and sweet treats. He was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR, UConn athletics, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Phillies. Above all else, his greatest joy came from being Yaya and spending time with his grandchildren, celebrating their milestones, sharing adventures, and creating cherished memories together.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sal’s life at a memorial visitation on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Horizon Funeral Home in Toms River, New Jersey. A repast will follow at Kendall’s home, where loved ones are welcome to gather, share stories, and honor the remarkable life of a man who will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family.

Though he will be profoundly missed, Sal’s love, laughter, and the countless memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him forever.

A Memorial Service will be held at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
