Suzanne Gough Christopher, 61, of Pine Beach, New Jersey, passed away on August 11, 2026. Born on September 20, 1964, Suzanne was a fourth-generation graduate from Toms River High School South followed by Stockton State College.
She went on to have a diverse career most notably so in her work as an environmental consultant and bookkeeper for the Christopher family business. No invoice went unpaid on her watch.
She was a devoted wife to Keith Christopher, with whom she shared 27 inseparable years of marriage, a loving mother to their daughter, Julia, age 26, and a cherished sister to Loraine. She was predeceased by her loving parents Thomas and Karen Gough.
Known for being the life of any party, her unwavering sense of conviction, her attentive kindness, and her fierce outspoken nature, She went to war for her loved ones and her love was truly unconditional. Her heart belonged to her rescue animals, including multiple dogs and a retired racetrack thoroughbred with whom she successfully competed dressage over the years with.
Suzanne was instrumental in building the junior sailing program at Beachwood Yacht Club, where she is remembered by many for her welcoming spirit and work as program coordinator. Through her efforts she helped develop many outstanding sailing instructors and left a lasting mark on the club’s youth sailing community.
She especially loved Acadia, Maine, where she honeymooned and frequently traveled with her husband, daughter and extended family.
Above all, Suzanne will be remembered for her tough-as-nails fighting spirit, her dedication as a wife and her selflessness as a mother. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Beachwood Yacht Club. https://square.link/u/sFuK6dYb
A Memorial Gathering was held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River, New Jersey, on Sunday, August 23 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a service at 3:30 pm. A Celebration of Life was followed at Beachwood Yacht Club on August 30 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Suzanne will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, humor, and passion.
