Remembering William (Bill) Thoma Jr.
Life Member and Treasurer of Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company in Bayville, NJ
William G. Thoma, Jr. 79 of Bayville, NJ passed away on April 4, 2024.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was raised in Bellville, NJ and settled to Bayville in 1967. Bill proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard.
He retired from the
Berkeley Township Board of Education where he oversaw maintenance department. He was a lifetime member of both the
Bayville First Aid squad and the
Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, riding his motorcycle, target shooting, spending time with family and friends and time away with his wife in their second home, Lake of the Woods Campground in Narvon, PA.
Mr. Thoma is predeceased by his beloved wife, Maryann Thoma in 2021 and by his sister Margaret.
Surviving are his 3 children William Thoma III and his wife Doreen, Wendy Yeager and her husband Areven and Kim Crevier and her husband Gary; six grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Areven, Kelly, Jake and Owen; two great grandchildren, Skylar and Bentley; and his sisters Katherine May and Theresa Bonfante.
Fire Services will begin at 7:00pm in the funeral home and Honors will be at 7:15pm.
