The Route 37 westbound Tunney Bridge will have lane closures for the upcoming few weeks due to deck repairs in Toms River, Ocean County, according to NJDOT officials.
The NJDOT's contractor, PKF Mark III, Inc., is slated to close one lane on the Route 37 westbound Tunney Bridge beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, October 3 until 4 p.m. Thursday, October 6, and continuing every week, Monday through Thursday for a few weeks.
A second lane will also be closed every day Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will always be at least one lane open. The Mathis Bridge traffic on Route 37 eastbound won't be impacted. The task is anticipated to be finished by the end of October.
The $9.6 million statewide Drawbridge Preventative Maintenance Contract includes this work.
In order to notify drivers in advance of any changes to the traffic flow due to the work, variable messaging signs are being used.
The work's exact start and end times could alter because of the weather or other circumstances.
Motorists are urged to look for work on the NJDOT's traffic information website,
