Route 88 and Cedar Bridge Avenue in Lakewood were closed Wednesday morning due to two crashes, according to Lakewood police.
According to authorities, the collision on Cedar Bridge Avenue near Clover Street rendered the traffic light inoperable. According to authorities, there was only one right turn (go west) on Cedar Bridge Avenue for drivers traveling south on Clover Street.
Additionally, just one lane was open in each direction of Cedar Bridge Avenue according to the police.
The traffic signal control box at the crossing was struck by a car on Tuesday night, according to The Lakewood Scoop.
A collapsed electricity pole and downed wires on Route 88 have caused the road to be closed in both directions between New Hampshire Avenue and Lanes Mill Road.
