Seaside Heights Boardwalk Welcomes New Bath House

According to U.S. House Representative Chris Smith, plans are underway to construct public bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms for beachgoers in Seaside Heights. The construction will be funded in part by federal funds totaling $1.6 million.

The funds, according to Smith's office, would go toward rebuilding the north end of town's Hiering Avenue bath house, which was devastated by Superstorm Sandy.

"Over the past decade, Seaside Heights has bounced back with tremendous strength and unbelievable resilience from the absolute devastation wrought by Superstorm Sandy and the subsequent south end boardwalk fire," Smith stated. "But one glaring ruin, the Heiring Avenue Bath House, has yet to be rebuilt."

According to Smith's office, the money will be utilized to construct facilities that are necessary for beachgoers, such as lockers, showers, public restrooms, changing rooms, an accessible viewing deck, and associated storage.

In light of the terrible destruction that Superstorm Sandy caused to Seaside Heights, keep an eye out for this addition in the coming months. It will be a wonderful contribution to the community's ongoing reconstruction efforts. The precise start date of the work is unknown at this time.
