Skateboarder Suffers Head Injury After Being Hit by Jeep

Skateboarder Injured After Being Hit by Jeep

According to Manchester Police Department, a man from Seaside Heights was hurt Tuesday night in Whiting when he was struck while on an electric skateboard, Manchester police reported on Wednesday.

Edmund Durra 4th, 43, was transported to Community Medical Center by Manchester Township EMS for treatment after suffering many injuries, including a head injury, according to Capt. James Komsa.

Around nine o'clock on Tuesday night, Durra was traveling east on Route 530 on an electric skateboard when he was struck by a 2020 Jeep Wrangler being operated by Raymond Loudy, 49, of New City, New York, according to Komsa. He said that Durra was not wearing a helmet.

At the time of the collision, Loudy was traveling west on Route 530 and attempting to make a left turn onto Lake Road, according to him.

At the time of the accident, which is still being investigated, there were numerous witnesses present, according to Komsa.

This incident is still under investigation by Sgt. Paul Bachovchin of the Traffic Safety Section with the assistance of Patrol.
