Sunny and Cold: New Jersey’s Chilly Week Kickoff

Cold Temperatures in New Jersey

Forecasters say temperatures will reach into the mid-to low-60s by Thursday and Friday. But don’t hang your winter coats back up just yet. Sunday’s highs will be in the high 40s, and the overnight low into Monday will dip into the 20s, according to the National Weather Service.

Although those are below average temperatures, they are nowhere close to setting new records.

According to weather service data, Newark would need to reach 22 degrees to tie its record low for Nov. 13, while Atlantic City would need to reach 21 degrees and Trenton would need to reach 19 degrees.

Notably, this weekend will probably end up being New Jersey's second consecutive weekend without rain, despite the low temperatures. The previous eight weekends saw significant rainfall in most parts of the state.

While rain fell on both Saturday and Sunday in some of the weekends, others saw rain fall on only one of those days.
